Think And Grow Rich Summary

"Don't wait. It will never be a good time ".

"Thoughts are things - and at that time when they are mixed with goal setting, perseverance and craving they translate into wealth or other material things."

Hill learned from his years of experience with businessmen that when a man really desires something so deeply that he is ready to fully share his future in a solo spin of the wheel of life in order to get it, he will definitely win.

"Opportunity has an insidious habit of slipping out the back door, often disguised as a temporary adversity or defeat and that is why many people fail to recognize opportunities."

Know what you want and have the determination to hold on to that desire until you realize it.

"One of the most common reasons for failure is the habit of withdrawing when a temporary defeat overtakes us."

Before success comes into your life, you are sure to face a lot of temporary defeat, and maybe some failure.

More than 500 of the most successful individuals this country has ever known said that their greatest success came just one step from the point where they overcame defeat.

"When riches begin to appear, they come so quickly, so abundantly, that one wonders where they have been hiding all those years."

One of the main weaknesses of the human race is the habituation of people to the word "impossible".

Many years ago, Hill bought a dictionary. The first thing he did with it was to resort to the word "impossible" and neatly cut the morsel from the book. Hill advises you to do the same.

Another weakness that is found in many people is the habit of measuring everything and everyone by their impressions and beliefs.

"The burning desire to be and do is the starting point from which the Dreamer should proceed. Dreams are not born of indifference, laziness or lack of ambition ".

"Those who win in any project should be ready to burn their ships and cut off all sources of retreat back. Only by doing this can one be sure to maintain the state of mind known as the burning desire to win, which is essential for success ".

"Desire will not bring wealth. But the desire for riches so that it becomes an obsession, and then planning specific ways and means of acquiring riches, and supporting those plans with a determination that does not admit failure, will bring riches, "he said.

The method by which the desire to get rich can be converted into its financial equivalent consists of six specific practical actions.

1-Determine in your mind the exact amount of money you want. It's not enough to say "I want a lot of money". Be specific regarding the amount".

2-determine exactly what you intend to give for the money you want.

3-set a specific date when you intend to have the money you want.

4-make a specific plan to fulfill your desire, and start immediately, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into practice.

5-write a clear and concise statement about the amount of money that you intend to receive, specify the time limit for its acquisition, specify what you intend to give for money, clearly describe the plan that you intend to make.

6-read your written statement aloud, twice a day, once before you go to bed at night and once after waking up in the morning. As you read, Feel and believe that you already have money.

You can never get riches in large quantities unless you can work yourself into a state of craving for money and already think that you will have it.

"If you don't see great riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance."

"If the thing you want to do is right and you believe in it, go ahead and do it. Express your dream, and don't care what they say if you experience a temporary defeat, because "maybe they don't know that every failure brings with it a seed of success".

"You may have been disappointed, you may have suffered setbacks and defeat during difficult economic times, you may have felt your heart broken bleeding. Have courage, because these experiences are assets of incomparable value ".

Everyone who succeeds in life gets off to a bad start and goes through many painful conflicts before he "arrives".

"No one is ever defeated until defeat is accepted as a fact."

"There is a difference between wanting something and being ready to receive it. You will never be ready for anything until you think you can get it ".

"Nothing is impossible for a person who supports desire with constant faith."

"Every achievement, regardless of its nature or purpose, should begin with an ardent and strong desire for something specific."

"Faith is a state of mind that can be induced or created by repeated affirmations or instructions of the subconscious mind, through the principle of self-suggestion."

"Repeating or emphasizing commands to your subconscious mind is the only way to voluntarily develop feelings of faith."

"All thoughts that have been touched by emotion (feeling) and mixed with faith immediately begin to translate themselves into their material counterpart or equivalent".

"Any idea, plan or purpose can be put into the mind by repeating the thought."

"Your subconscious mind recognizes and acts only on thoughts that are well mixed with emotion or feelings."

"When you imagine (with closed eyes) the money that you intend to accumulate, look at yourself as you provide the service or deliver the goods that you intend to provide for this money.

"Repeat this at night and in the morning so that you can clearly imagine (in your imagination) the money that you intend to collect."

"Knowledge is only potential power . It becomes a force only when it is organized into specific and goal-oriented action plans ".

"Your main goal in life, the goal for which you are working, will help determine the knowledge you need."

When knowledge is acquired, it must be systematized and used, for a specific purpose, by practical plans. Knowledge has no value except what can be gained from its application towards a worthy end."

"Successful people never stop acquiring specialized knowledge related to their main goal, work or profession."

"A person who stops learning just because he or she has finished his or her studies is hopelessly forever doomed to weakness, no matter what this person advocates."

"The path to success is the path of constant pursuit of knowledge."

"Anyone can wish to get rich, and most people do, but only a few know that a specific plan, in addition to a craving for wealth, is the only reliable means of accumulating wealth."

"Ideas can be turned into money through the power of a specific purpose, as well as specific plans."

"Riches, when they come in huge quantities, are never the result of hard work. Riches come, in response to specific demands, based on the application of specific principles, and not by chance or luck ".

"None of the adherents of this philosophy can reasonably expect to accumulate a fortune without suffering a temporary defeat."

"When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and again set off towards your desired goal."

"The submissive never wins - and the winner never gives up."

"A follower cannot reasonably expect the compensation that a leader deserves, although many followers make the mistake of expecting this salary,"he said.

"The person who can follow a leader most efficiently is usually the one who develops into a leader as quickly as possible."

"An intelligent follower has many advantages, among which is the opportunity to gain knowledge from his leader."

"Before you even start negotiating for a salary adjustment in your current position or looking for work elsewhere, make sure you deserve more than you get," he said.

"True wisdom is usually evident through humility and silence."

Riches do not respond to desires. She responds only to specific plans, supported by specific desires, by constant perseverance ".

"When a group of individual minds is coordinated and works in harmony, the increased energy resulting from this alliance becomes available to each individual mind in the group."

"Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time."

The seven main positive emotions:

  • Desire.
  • Faith.
  • Love.
  • Sex.
  • Enthusiasm.
  • Romance.
  • Hope.

The seven big negative emotions (you should avoid):
